Aadhaar Number Must Be Entered To Book Online Train Tickets in coming days

In coming days whenever you book online train tickets you are required to enter Aadhaar card number of the person who is going to travel. From 1st April it is mandatory to enter Aadhaar card number for senior citizen tickets to avail the concessions. These new measures are taken by IRCTC to tackle with illegal agents earning huge money for blocking and selling e-tickets. Entering Aadhaar card number is mandatory for new user registration at IRCTC website that does help in curtailing huge number of illegal registration.

As per the press conference of Mr. Suresh Prabhu Honrable Railway Minister he suggested fresh business plan to be implemented for the coming Financial Year 2017-2018 in which a new aadhaar based ticketing system will be introduced, to encourage cashless transactions railway booking counters soon will be installed with point of sale/swiping machines installed, a total more than 6,000 point off sale machines will be available for train ticket booking counters across railways stations. To ease cashless transactions further railways stations across India will have Automatic ticket vending machines, more than 1,000 of such machines would be installed in coming days. There will be integrated ticketing app will be released to further increase the cashless transactions for booking railway tickets.
